Health Benefits

  • High in vitamin C and antioxidants, which is great for eye health.

  • Contains an enzyme called bromelain, which assists with digestion.

  • High in manganese, an important mineral for bone health.

How To:

1

Pick

Choose a pineapple that is golden in color with dark green leaves: the heavier it is the juicer it will be.

2

Prepare

  1. Remove the leafy crown with a sharp knife and cut a thin slice from the base.
  2. Slice the skin away from top to bottom, removing any brown spots as you go.
3

Store

At room temperature, a ripe pineapple will keep for 3 days. Whole pineapples shouldn't be stored in the fridge, but once the flesh has been removed and chopped, it will need to be refrigerated and stored in an airtight container.

Better For You Tip

Add pineapple chunks to any smoothie for a boost in nutritional value.
