A Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) includes a CDC-recognized, structured lifestyle change program. The DPP focuses on healthy eating and physical activity that has been proven to decrease the risk for developing diabetes. People at risk for diabetes, or diagnosed with prediabetes, who participate in this type of program have been shown to cut their risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 58% and 71% for people over 60.
This is a 12 month long program, and content is based on the CDC’s Prevent T2 Curriculum.
We can answer that in one word - engagement! While daily engagement is not required, at least weekly engagement is needed. And, those who engage the most often have the best outcomes.
